Go Store It Self Storage

Zee is a tremendous asset to Go Store It! Her prompt, efficient handling of a few issues was most impressive. She is thorough, dependable, and very kind and helpful. Her courteous, professional manner makes her a wonderful customer relations representative!

I am beyond upset with Go Store It on Walnut after having great experiences with other storage facilities in both Atlanta and Nashville. I started leasing a 10x20 unit at Go store It on Walnut St. in October of 2023. My rate increased significantly after only 2 months of leasing and by 2025 my rate had tripled to over $600 per month without any notification of a rate increase. As a single mom and widow I could not afford that. It was now October 2025 and My needs had changed due to another move and I needed an additional unit. I was told that go store it would combine my 2 units into a new lease so I could get the 3 month free special. My movers went to drop my additional items off at the unit only to realize go store it had given me 2 tiny units instead of an additional medium unit as promised. They never told me this and 4 of my larger items would not fit into the either one of the tiny units they had assigned me. Ugh. So I had nowhere to put these larger pieces. I then went round and round for weeks trying to consolidate my original large unit with these 2 tiny units but could never get a live person to talk to! This went on until December 2025 when I finally saw the manager onsite. We agreed to consolidate all 3 units into 1 starting in January of 2026 and I was told I would receive 3 months free since I was starting a new lease in a new unit. That was 2 months ago so I should still be getting my 3 months free, right? No. I have now been getting harassing calls from them saying they have now put a lien on my unit!!! Stating my unit is 2 months behind on payments that were free! I am in shock and so upset! My fiancé is a well known architect here and is stunned as well. He has designed a large portion of downtown Charleston and has never seen anything like this. I asked to speak to the owner of go store it and was told it is owned by a corporation. Madison Holdings out of Charlotte. Again I have had many storage units in both Atlanta and Nashville as a former pharmaceutical sales rep. I have never experienced anything like these Horrible “bait and switch” tactics. Lure the customer in with 3 months free (or promise 3 months free and later deny it) only to to then jack the promised rate up immediately. Update - Below is the voicemail transcribed that I received this afternoon from Go Store It. I have a recorded in person conversation with the girl at the facility (for once there was a live person there) stating the 3 free months promo would honored due to the fact I had been trying to move my things to a new unit since November. I paid 4 movers to move all of my things into a larger unit with the understanding that this wouks be a new lease and promo honored. And then I get this voicemail! Unless you want to be dealing with nightmare issues like this I would not use this facility. Check yelp for reviews as well. Sounds like this is the norm with Go Store It on walnut st. Fortunately my 18 year old daughter is a big influencer with over 3 million followers. If this is not resolved she will be posting this on her accounts also. There will be more to follow I’m sure. . The facility is clean, well-maintained, and feels very secure. The staff was professional, friendly, and took the time to answer all of my questions. The rental process was smooth and quick, which made everything stress-free. I also appreciate how easy it is to access my unit and how organized the property is. If you’re looking for a reliable and safe storage place, I definitely recommend Go Store Storage!

Zee is SO unbelievably kind! She helped me profusely to acquire a storage unit and Joe stepped right in to take care of the paperwork! They were both so genuine and helpful! Looking forward to seeing Zee around the building! Very thankful to them both!
